About Brookhold

Brookhold is a UK company that helps care homes spend less on energy, food and supplies. We start with a free savings check of a home's energy bills and its food and supplies invoices. Then, if the home wants, we put right what we find and run its purchasing, with its existing suppliers.

What we do

• Energy bills. We check the VAT rate and the Climate Change Levy on every meter's bills. Energy used by a care home usually qualifies for a lower rate of VAT and usually shouldn't carry the levy. Where a bill is wrong, we prepare the paperwork for the home to sign and deal with the supplier. The rules, explained.
• Food and supplies. We match every line on a home's invoices like-for-like, show where the same item costs less, and catch price creep, duplicate charges, and arithmetic and VAT errors. What we check.
• Purchasing, done for you. If a home signs up, we place its supplies and food orders with its existing suppliers and check every price. Short deliveries and price creep are flagged, invoices go to Xero or QuickBooks already coded, and the home gets one statement a month.

Who Brookhold is for

Care homes and care home groups in England. Homes keep their current suppliers, their homes don't learn a new system, and any change of product or supplier is their decision.

How we're paid

The check is free. If you'd like us to run your purchasing afterwards, food included, our fee is a fixed monthly amount per bed, set at no more than a third of the savings your check finds, so you keep at least two-thirds. There's no minimum term (30 days' notice), and you never pay us more than we've saved you.

For energy, our fee is 20% of the VAT and Climate Change Levy overcharges we recover, so you keep 80%. Correcting your future bills costs nothing.

Independent of suppliers

Suppliers don't pay us a penny. You do, so our only incentive is getting you a better deal.

Some purchasing services are free to the home because suppliers pay them rebates or commission. We take nothing from suppliers: no commission, no rebates, no referral fees. Any discount a supplier offers is passed on to you in full, and we only get paid when you save.

Who runs Brookhold

Brookhold is led by Bosco Foulsham, CEO, who studied Economics and Management at Oxford and worked in equity research. We start every relationship with a free check, so you can judge our work before trusting us with anything else.
